Mike Stone is the General Manager of the Aircraft Integration & Modernization business unit located at Cecil Field, Fl. In this role he oversees all activities at the site across Engineering, Quality, Production, and Logistics.
Initially founded on the model of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and US Air Force’s Weapons School, Tactical Air Support is redefining government contracting as a non-traditional defense company focused on value-based, innovative, and technology-driven products and services for the US Armed Forces.
Prior to his current position he served as the Program Director for the F-5 Avionics Reconfiguration and Tactical Enhancement/Modernization for Inventory Standardization (ARTEMIS) program. In this role he managed and directed all program activities related to the aircraft upgrade effort. Before joining Tactical Air, Mike worked for the Boeing Company as the KC-46 Maintenance, Modifications and Retrofit Senior Manager. In this role he directed all Maintenance, Repair and overhaul activities for the KC-46 while also managing several engineering and field support services contracts across multiple sites. Mike is also a United States Air Force Veteran having served 22 years in the Aircraft Maintenance career field attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9).
Mike’s aviation maintenance expertise was honed through years of experience on AC-130U, C-17 and KC-46 activities. He served in varying positions from the unit to Major Command levels. His most impactful strategic position was as the C-17 Product Support Manager at Headquarters Air Mobility Command. In that role he was responsible for all aspects of C-17 sustainment and modernization from source selection through execution. He completed his USAF career at Joint Base Charleston as the 437th Maintenance Group Superintendent.
Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in European History from Charleston Southern University and a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Webster. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Black belt.
