Our Team

Ken is the Chief Operating Officer at Tactical Air Support with oversight of Flight Operations, Fleet Management, Engineering & Technology, Quality Operations, Tactical Air Logistics Network (TALON), Advanced Capabilities and Expert Solutions (ACES), and Aircraft Integration & Modernization (AIM). Initially founded on the model of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and US Air Force’s Weapons School, Tactical Air Support is redefining government contracting as a non-traditional defense company focused on value-based, innovative, and technology-driven products and services for the US Armed Forces.

Ken retired from military service as a Captain after serving over 31 years in the U.S. Navy. His many military assignments include Commander of Space Shuttle Atlantis on mission STS-132, Pilot of Space Shuttle Discovery on mission STS-124, and Chairman of the Aerospace Engineering Department at the US Naval Academy, where, as Senior Aviator, he was responsible for training and selection of all future Naval Aviators from the Academy. He has combat time in Iraq, Bosnia, and Afghanistan. Ken was awarded two Legions of Merit, a Distinguished Flying Cross, and multiple Air Medals.

Ken has been with Tactical Air Support for over seven years working assignments from Joint Strike Fighter Operational Test to Director of Technology Development, where he led the team that developed the F-5AT. Before becoming COO, Ken served as the General Manager of Flight Operations.  Ken is a type-rated flight instructor in all models of the F-5. As a US Navy Test Pilot, he performed extensive developmental test flying during the Engineering Manufacturing Development phase of the Super Hornet Program. In commercial aerospace, Ken has served as the Chief Test Pilot for Millennium Jet and Director of Astronaut Training for Bigelow Aerospace. Ken has over 7,700 total flight hours in over 45 aircraft types.

Ken has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an MS in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the US Navy Test Pilot School.
