James is the Chief Marketing Officer at Tactical Air Support. IInitially founded on the model of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and US Air Force’s Weapons School, Tactical Air Support is redefining government contracting as a non-traditional defense company focused on value-based, innovative, and technology-driven products and services for the US Armed Forces.
JJ has over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Command and Control Officer, Marine Weapons and Tactics Instructor, and Senior Air Director in both the Tactical Air Operations Center (TAOC) and Direct Air Support Center (DASC). His operational tours included combat operations as a Sector Anti Air Warfare Coordinator (SAAWC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during Operations Desert Shield/Storm as well as Western Pacific / Indian Ocean contingency deployments with Helicopter Marine Medium Squadrons (HMM) -262 and HMM-265, as part of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). As an instructor at the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), JJ was responsible for establishing a training program and providing instruction for US Navy and US Marine Corps Aircrew and Air Intercept Controllers in both surface and airborne Command and Control platforms, to include the US Navy Aegis, E-2C as well as the US Marine Corps TAOC/TAOM.
Prior to joining Tactical Air Support in 2014, James was a Vice President of Business Development at Doss Aviation, responsible for business development across a broad range of aviation programs - from Initial Flight Screening of all US Air Force Pilot, Combat System Officers and Remotely Piloted Aircraft pilots (both US Air Force and US Marine Corps) to advanced helicopter training for the US Army in the UH-60, AH-64 and CH-47 Aircraft. Prior Industry experience includes eleven years with Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems including positions as Test Engineer, System Engineer, Director of Engineering, Program Manager and Operations Manager as well as two years as Director of Business Capture for ITT/Exelis.
James has a BS degree in Behavioral Psychology from Montana State University, and MA in Information Systems and MBA from Webster University. He is a graduate of the US Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School (AWS), the US Air Force Air Command and Staff College (ACSC), Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course, US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), and the Joint Command and Staff College. Additional qualifications include Raytheon Level III Program Manager, Advanced Program Leadership, Babson College and Disruptive Innovation, Harvard Business School.
